Thanks Geoff but that doesn't mention Cloughfields and I *know* I saw a very positive report about it on the Forum somewhere (maybe even in that thread).

So I'm now nervous as all reference to it seems to have disappeared and I'm going to be putting my kitten in there in the middle of June.... am I sending her into the lions' den?

I had a dig around for you and it appears the original thread you were thinking of was posted in our Classifieds area. As this is meant for things that are for sale, notices, etc. we tend to clear it out every few months as generally there is no reason to keep them.

If that thread had been started in the right forum (i.e. this one as it's related to Sheffield) then it wouldn't have been accidentally removed as we keep everything posted in the 'core' forums. I hope this clears things up and stops you worrying that you'd gone mad!

(PS. In case you're wondering I found the thread via Google, but unfortunately they didn't have a copy of the contents - just the fact it once existed).

Situated within private gardens overlooked by woodland, Cloughfields Cat Hotel opened in January 2004. Built to the very latest licensing specifications but with that extra added luxury. The units are made from PVCu, designed to be hygienic but maintaining a warm, well ventilated, secure environment.

Each unit is large enough to cater for two. The units provide a private penthouse sleeping area to the rear which has a thermostatically controlled radiator, keeping cats warm in winter and through cool summer evenings. Each penthouse has inbuilt ventilation and a raised sleeping area. Vet bed gold provides a soft fleecy bed especially designed to be warm and comfortable whilst being anti fungal and hygienic. Bedding is changed on a daily basis.

In front of the sleeping quarters are private covered exercise areas. Whilst being open to the air they are also sheltered from inclement weather conditions. Each exercise area contains a ‘canac discovery’ cat aerobic centre, to encourage exercise and play. Or for our older guests to simply relax on and watch the world go by. Soft music is played throughout the day to comfort and sooth.

Each unit will be thoroughly cleansed before accepting a new arrival and kept to the same high standard throughout our guests stay. Litter trays are changed twice daily. Fresh water is always available and we aim to keep our boarders on the same diet as they are normally fed to avoid stress and digestive upsets. All guests will be closely monitored for any signs of ill health and a veterinary surgeon consulted upon the first signs of any illness.

Cuddles and hugs will be given freely and liberally.

As we are offering a five star service to our boarders striving to make them feel secure and at home, we feel it is far less stressful for the cats and owners if our boarders can be taken directly to their prepared unit and collected from the same unit on your return. Therefore we do not use holding pens at any stage of your cats visit. This will leave you with the peace of mind that your cat is settled in his or her new environment before you leave.

Security
Access to the hotel is strictly monitored, benefiting from electric gates, 24hour CCTV surveillance and the added security of the cat hotel owners living on site.

Viewings, Arrivals and collections
Viewings, arrivals and collections are by appointment only between 9.30am and 4.00pm. This is to ensure the quality of care given to our boarders and to maintain a secure environment. Arrivals will be met at reception at the agreed appointment time. All clients will be requested to fill out an information card on arrival to confirm diet, vet, special needs etc. For your cats own safety please remove any collars prior to their stay. Unfortunately we are not allowed to administer any medicines other than in your cat’s food. If required and if your pet allows we will groom daily. Please ensure you bring your pets vaccination certificate with you on arrival, boarders arriving without an up to date vaccination certificate cannot be accepted.

Bookings and payment
To make a reservation we will require a 20% deposit to secure the booking. The balance of payment is due by cheque or cash on arrival. Cheques made payable to Cloughfields Cat Hotel please. For bookings made within seven days of arrival payment in full will be required at the time of booking. Please note this payment will be non-refundable on cancellation. Arrival and departure times and your cat’s food preferences are required at the time of booking.

Cancellations
Cancellations made prior to 28 days before your cats arrival date will receive a full refund of any monies paid. Deposits are non-refundable when cancellation is within 28 days prior to arrival.
