The venue hire mega thread was a good idea, but I just think that things get lost in there, and it can be difficult for people to navigate.

Maybe a sub-forum in "Going Out" SPECIFICALLY for finding a venue, on the understanding that the OP contacts a mod to get the thread closed when a venue is found, AND that it's for charitable or private/personal use only could be useful?

Or something along those lines?

I don't think a megathread does the job in this case

how can one thread cover all the separate criteria people have for finding a venue, and when it's a couple of months old, who's to say the new management still rent that room out, or that the place hasn't been converted into flats?
