Interesting, all relatively new. I agree those choice have become boring.
purplepippa 22-10-2003, 03:27 Being a TV-less person I have to say:
Just a Minute
The News Quiz
I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue
All works of absolute genius :)
Top of the pile would have to be Bullseye hosted by the brilliant Jim Bowen. As Jim would say 'theres nothing in this game for 2 in a bed......'
Never Mind the Buzzcocks is nearly always very funny
They thinks its all over (although its not as good as it used to be with Gary Lineker / David Gower)
alchresearch 22-10-2003, 17:17 3.2.1.
A Yorkshire TV production to boot!
You can't forget Every Second Counts. Paul Daniels' finest hour that was.

Brain of Britain
I'm Sorry I haven't a Clue
With the exception of the last one, quiz programs with no bull, no dramatic entrances/exits, no pointless lightshow, and proper questions, not Blockbuster type ones.
Although having mentioned Blockbusters, that wasn't a bad one (even if the questions were stupidly easy)
"I'll have an E please Bob!"
DaBouncer 22-10-2003, 20:54 Shooting Stars (what are the scores George Doors)
Crystal Maze
Blockbuster
(honourable mentions)
Gladiators
Blankety Blank (original)
The Price is Right
Play your cards right
(dishonourable mention)
Celebrity Squares (so wrong)

I forgot all about Bully, it certianly deserves a mention.
Does anyone remember Punchlines with Lenny Bennett?
My three:
PRICE IS RIGHT (Well before Bob barker left the show (NOW ITS CRAP))
Wheel of fortune
Jeopardy
and a 4th to replace T.P.I.R.
Match Game
Rocklegend 12-10-2008, 08:25 Generation Game with the Legendary Larry Grayson
Bullseye...your charity moneys safe
Deal Or No Deal-would love to have a go on that and see if I've got more bottle than some of the contestants so far.
also not forgetting...
15-1
Golden Shot
Blanketty Blank with the brilliant Les Dawson.
weenireeni 12-10-2008, 08:30 mine are all modern, sorry!
question of sport (when ally was captain)
8 out of 10 cats
never mind the buzzcocks
EdnaKrabappe 12-10-2008, 09:41 I do like quiz/game shows but rarely watch them these days.
Anyway mine were:
Reality type shows/active ones.
1. The Mole (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mole_(TV_series)) - a superb series! I recommend you Youtube it. I got quite geeky about it and went on web chats to discover who the mole was and stuff.
2. Wanted (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wanted_(game_show))
Brilliant channel 4 show where people used to hide around the country.
3. Crystal Maze/Ford Boyard... like them both.
Quiz shows
1. 321. Yes. it said go left and left is what you did to that hat on the bus. Bus sounds like bush so if you think of George Bush you get to George and Zippy and Bungle. Bungle sounds like Bundle so yes, you've thrown away this bundle of prizes - this week's star prize - the car? :suspect:
2. Every second counts. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Every_Second_Counts_(UK_game_show)) I don't mind Paul Daniels. I'm sorry.
3. Jeopardy. Wasn't the British version called the pyramid game?
Children's gameshow
1. The adventure game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventure_Game) Bloomin heck it was complicated.
2. Runaround (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runaround_(game_show)) I still use the runaround now for kids to change their mind at work! :hihi:
3. Blockbusters. Tea time viewing with uncle Bob.
Mastermind
University Challenge
15-1
Can't be doing with gimmickry which spins out 8 questions to an hour of airtime. Just give me quick fire questions. I have taped Millionaire before and fast forwarded to the questions and it took about 8 minutes to watch the show, which was good seeing as most of the time I wanted to punch the contestants for being dumb.
Countdown comes in as the runner-up.
