Hi,

I was reading a copy of the star from last week (now binned by the missus), and there was an article about a local artist, named Peter McKee. I've been searching the internet this afternoon to see if I can find a portfolio of his work anywhere, but I don't appear to behaving much luck.

Does anyone know where I can find information on Peter's work?

Many thanks all.

Would that be Pete McKee (http://www.illustration-agency.com/gallery/illust/mckee.htm)?

Workshop with him at the Millenium Galleries (http://www.sheffieldgalleries.org.uk/shared/display.asp?ID=440)

Some more bits (http://www.absolutearts.com/portfolios/m/mckee/).

Hi Pete,

Startled to see your reply, but glad that the Forum has wielded it's power in my favour!

I was interested in seeing a colour shot of one of your paintings. It was featured in the star, but the image was black and white. It was the picture of the old man bathing in his heavy suit.

I've been looking for a picture for the house, and I really liked the look of this particualr painting.

I just hope I can afford it!!!

Hi Neil
The image you are refering to is titled 'Harry takes a dip' It's on display, along with others, at the MASH HOUSE restraunt, on Division st. It's one of my modest sized and priced paintings, measuring 12"x12" and priced at £95.
If you wish to see the image via an email then please let me know your email add, if possible. I usually paint on a slightly larger scale and at the moment my prices are incredibly reasonable, avarage price £250.
hope i've been of some help and i'm chuffed that you like my stuff.
all the best
Pete

Welcome to the forum Pete Mckee, artist.

Forummers had perhaps better buy Pete's paintings now whilst prices remain reasonable!

I've bought two of Pete's paintings, with a third on the way. Never before have me and the wife agreed on how much we like something.

I understand that his paintings are about to rocket in value, which is a double edged sword, cos we won't sell them, cos we like 'em, but very soon, we won't be able to afford 'em.

Myself and the girlfriend saw them too and loved them.

I loved the one of the fella sat with a hat on and his hand on the table next to his pint.

First thing I said was what a great record sleeve that would make!!

How much would you charge for a cartoon drawing of four band members in a pub in that style?

Brilliant stuff

Well, you must have got the email address correct for me to get the error message.

Presumably the server is a critic?! ;)

The only suggestion I have, is maybe if you zipped the pictures before emailing them?

Thanks Ledzeppelin. thats a 'how long is a piece of string?' question.
It depends on a number of things, like, if its a line drawing or a painting or how long it takes etc...
but i'm sure we could come to some sort of arrangement.
all the best
