Out of curiousity, what does everyone play.

Is there scope to produce a super band, through a chain of battle of the bands which can raise some money for charity or something.

This is a serious thing, so i will restate it -

Im trying to arrange a serious of battle of the bands esk competitions to raise money for charity, "work with what youve got" is the motto.

How would you judge who would be in the 'super band'. The more techinically gifted can write stinky music...whereas a dude playing 3 chords maybe able to write a melodic masterpiece.

the idea is that your put into a band randomly so have to work with what youve got to work with.

The judging is the main problem ive come across...could be a door thing of who people come to see, a range of influencial people around sheffield, so im still thinking about that.

dunno....you'd have to rehearse and just to do it as a one off ...hmmm sounds tricky and hard to organise....if i had the time i could do it with you as i have a hell of a lot of contacts in other bands....but far too busy at mo really.

The idea sounds ok....if you got say 15 people, 3 of each instrument, chuck them in a hat and then pull them out and theres your band, organise a gig for a few months time, maybe even get a song basically recorded by all 3 and put it out on a charity CD...it's something ive thought of in the past but the admin behind it seems quite a lot.

i was thinking of hopefully getting more than 3 bands tbh, the cd is a great idea though i didnt think of that.

I was thinking more of giving each band 2 weeks to create 2 songs at no longer than say 2minutes each. That way a gig could involved all the bands at once.

when i get my plan together, ill send you it if you want and then we can consider our options.
