With Arsenal beating Liverpool, Everton are in the Champions Leauge next season, well if only the 4th qualifying round. Still as an Everton fan i say bring on Real Madrid and AC Milan.

Who would have thought it?

Many people in that thread thought they would fade out. Nice to see that a bit of determination and good man motivation can produce the results required.

I have to point out that in another thread I did back them to hang on half way through the season.

Okay, next question. Does anyone believe they would have finished fourth with Rooney in their squad?

I think having one player who is (and knows he is) potentially of a higher skill level than the rest of the team it can be very destabilising, and you don't get the best out of them, and you certainly don't get the best out of the rest of the squad.

Credit to David Moyes - he's done superb.

From someone who recalls Everton's glory days of the 1980s I am pleased to see them qualify for Europe.

It's also time to eat humble pie because I predicted that they would be relegated this year.

Goodison Park has always been a ground I've enjoyed visiting. I only wish I could pay another visit there soon (a subtle hint, Mr Warnock).

HAving said that halfway through the season that I thought they'd hang on for fourth, I did predict them to struggle prior to the season beginning.

They totally mystify me, last season I predicted them to do really well and they nearly got relegated, this season has been the other way round.

If Everton don't get through the Qualifiers they might only get a couple of games.

I think Everton aren't really good enough to be in the Champions League, but they have earned their place in the current system.

For me the team and manager of the year.
