Just a question..

Do you eat the skin on fruit, say for example on an apple, orange, grape etc

When i was a wee nipper i used to peel the skin off grapes and it used to take me ages just to peel one! now i never bother to. I didnt know why i did in the first place maybe it was because i didnt like the texture of it in my mouth or something.....i dunno i was a bit fussy back then.

My friend eats the peel off oranges! now i find that rather strange. I just dont see the appeal of a peel lol i still peel the skin off apples nowadays.

How about you guys out there!?

The only thing I don't like is the white pith on oranges and tangerines.

My GF eats lemon peel and I didn't used to know how on earth she could do it until I read that you don't get the taste of a food until you smell it. Now if I tightly hold my nose I can happily eat lemon peel and quite enjoy it!

I used to peel grapes too!! I used to eat apple cores .. but I don't do that anymore. I wouldn't like to eat kiwi skin either.

I'll eat the skin of grapes, plums, pears, apples, peaches - stuff like that.

Given what they probably spray on to fruits, I'm not convinced that I probably should..... :)

As a rule I eat the skin on all fruits unless they look rotten or have been handled by an elderly person forgetful about normal hygiene.Or a shop assistant who has recently visited one of those nailbars staffed by kamikazi pilots.
My favourite fruit skin is coconut.A little bit challenging on the peggies but well worth the effort.Rather reminiscent of oral activities with exotic ladies if my memory serves me right.
The bristly bits (of the coconut)provide an effective flossing medium stimulating gums and creating a healthy mouth.
Not partial to the milk although this may be psychosomatic or
related to an unfortunate experience in a youth hostel with a
former scout master.

I eat the skin on apples, pears, plums, grapes etc. - all the normal stuff. Don't most of the vitamins & stuff come from just under the skin?

My daughter eats the skin on kiwi fruits, which is damn weird especially given how fussy she is about pretty much every other kind of food. Even more weird given that, when using the juicer, I normally just bung the whole fruit in, skin and all; but if I'm juicing kiwis for her, she insists on me cutting the skins off first as she says it makes the juice taste nasty otherwise :loopy:

Don't eat the skin of pears, but do eat the skin of apple.
Don't eat the skin of peaches, but do eat the skin of nectarines.

Whilst I ponder on why these differences, would somebody please peel me a grape?
