I'm selling some boxed HP ink cartridge's on Ebay which I've had hanging about for a few years. The use by dates are about a year or so old, I've never had any problems before using other cartridges before with older dates. I was wondering if anybody knew how realiable these dates are, is it just a precaution?

Don't want to get the reputation for selling rubbish on ebay just yet.

If you clearly state that they are out of date, you shouldn't have any comeback.

Personally if I were using tapes to back up valuable data I certainly wouldn't risk using out of date ones, and if I knew they were out of date when I bought them wouldn't blame the seller.

We have a HP injet boycott. This was brought about as most carts have a kill chip that stops them from working at the or shortly after the expiry date. We consider this uncompetitive and hence instituted a boycott.
