Dont know enough about this but ive a Tiny computer and my keyboard has had it now , but ive bought a keyboard from pc world and also tried one before from asda.
But even though they are the exact same connections no other will work on my pc.
My son said any should work but they dont.
they connect in perfectly but wont light up or work.
So we have to keep putting the old tiny one back in the keys are no good on it now theyre always sticking.
Can anyone please advise.
Im clearly sick of this old heap of junk as it is, but im still paying for it so wont get a new system yet.
i have got a computer from tiny and it was the biggest waste of money ever, our mouse or keyboard wont work our disk driver dosen't work we have been to the shop and they were rude and un-helpful, if its still under warrenty i wud take it back.

As far as I'm aware all keyboards should be compatible as long as the plug is the same.
Are you aware that you must power off the computer when unpluging keyboard or mouse, as with the power on, you might blow up the motherboard, as they are a primitive interface, and not designed to hot swap.

Unfortunately its no longer under guarantee, but even when it was we had to send it in a few times to be repaired and when the Tiny company closed down at meadowhall we had to send it to a place at the other end of the country that was the only place dealing with them.
Another company took over the payments.
And yes muddycoffee the power was off when i plugged keyboard in.
Ive not been daft enough to try it with pc on. although i do daft things from time to time.
I'll let my son have a go when he comes back from work today.
But i cant see it working.

Well the modern kind of keyboard and mice are 'plug & play', which means they can be exchanged easily, and Sh*tdows will detect them and use universal drivers to get them working.
If your kb and mouse plug is PS/2 (little round with 6 pins).
I can't see why a kb can't be replaced ! Even PS/1 devices could be changed (bigger plug, more pins).

Perhaps the PS2 port on the computer is faulty?
Try a USB keyboard, you should be able to pick one up for about a fiver.
If that doesn't help you can clean your old keyboard. Use a knife to gently prise up the keys from the board, then give it a good clean with the hoover.
It might be a good idea to take a photo of the keyboard first so you know where all the keys go - the QWERTY ones are easy, but it's when you get to the jumble of [];'#,./ at the right when it gets tricky!

hmmmmmmmm should work
you can get a small connector that allows a ps/2 device to plug into usb, could get one of those instead of a whole new keyboard.
if you go into control panel / keyboard and check its working properly etc, or into control panel/system/device manager (does the same thing) also check for any keyboard options in the bios, when switching on (normally by pressing delete)
i mended a friends puter and the mouse was trashed so i tried about 6 of my spare mice and not one would work, yet when i plugged the knackered one back in, it worked straight off.
its computers, sometimes they get a small niggle that just wont shift...as soon as you forget about it it goes.

It sounds like your keyboard is likely a proprietary usb keyboard, some of thge system builders included these before there was a real standard for usb keyboards and mice. They programmed the bios to work with them and hence might not work with others. Try a ps/2 or different usb keyboards, you might have luck.
Converter connectors are available from maplins in the format usb-ps2 or ps2-usb, but are as much as a keyboard anyway!
If you have no luck drop it by us and we'll have a look at it, we don't charge much and have a variety of keyboards we can try in house.
