Hello All

Would like your opinions on this

We have a joint driveway (40ft) wide and want to put some sort of wall and gates across it. For security and to stop random people thinking they can just part in front of our garages.

But the lane in front of the house is narrow (a bit wider than a single track road) and we are undecided what to do.

Option 1
A wall with a large double gate

Or Option 2

A set of about 9 fold down security posts.

Both options have there pluses.

But my question is. Do you think the posts would detract from the value of the house? OR make it more prone to interested burglars as apposed to a wall and gate.

All opinions and advice is welcome.

We have a double width driveway but because of the level difference in the two and one car being new we only needed one security post. It has been worth its weight in gold (if only!!!) A recent spate of car thefts has left many people on the street carless, however our 29 year old Fiesta has survived. We firmly believe this is because of the security post in the driveway. It acts as a very good visual deterant and also protects the car in the garage. I dont suspect it will detract any value from the house.

Just that or partly due to it being a 29 year old Fiesta? :hihi:

I'd have thought a wall and gate would look more attractive and add value.
