I have got some onions in my garden & the stalks are still green but they are lying down.Is it O.K. to pull them & cut of the stalks & stack them upside down like I have done before only then the stalks were brown & dry?I do not think they are ever going to be dry this year.Also my Bramleys look as though they are ready,tinted red, but the pips are still white.Should I leave these or pull them?Damned weather.

I'd lift the onions and put them somewhere under cover for the foliage to dry off.When it's dry and crisp and comes away easily,then they should store well.I don't think your Bramleys will be ready yet,mine aren't.When you get one or two windfalls,see if the others come away from the tree easily.
