In the 1970s, I think it was either Arcade or K-Tel bought out a bit of equipment that rested in the neck of a wine bottle, and via a glass cutter made a 'wine glass' from the bottom half of the bottle. I know, but we were young and innocent in those days.

Was I the only person that made one, or in my case more than one, which I never used. How did you smooth the edges off?

Would like to know of any other Arcade, K-Tel and Innovations stuff people have bought and what happened

I remember one which let you turn a wine bottle - usually VAT69 or Mateus - into a lamp.

There's a company based in cornwall that has built an industry out of recycling wine, beer bottles into drinking glasses, saw them on sale in a shop behind the cathedral,Sol bottle made into a tumbler looked quite nice, apparently they are quite trendy!
