Who remembers the Top Rank nightclub from the 70's? ... i was a regular visitor from around 1970 to 1974, had some wonderful times there, remember them playing 'Nathan Jones' by the Supremes and 'Witch Queen Of New Orleans' all the time ... fantastic nightclub never to be forgotten.
Remember the beer was really bad, but the girls were fantastic, the music great and the place rocked.
Let's hear from you if you were there!

Started going in 76, wasn't it also called Steele's? Mostly went for the bands that played and yes the beer was well rubbish. Also remember get stung for 50p extra because you had to be a Member to get in...
Might have been a little earlier but did not they have a DJ called Bobby Dee whochanged the colour of his hair each week even did it in halves and quarters (till his hair fell out). Then there has the yard of ale contest, the drunks walking around on all fours, keeping one girl chatted up downstairs and the other upstairs.

Yep, remember the Yard Of Ale contest they used to have up on the stage, never had the courage to try it, (probably best considering that Tartan beer was like pig swill) ha ha.
Was there any of you in there the night they dragged Les Dawson out of the Fiesta next door to judge the Top Rank Beauty Contest? .. i remember him walking right past me and i was surprised how little he was and from what i remember he didn't look too happy either at being dragged in.
