First Class Paediatric First Aid Course.
The Paediatric First Aid course is designed to train individuals to provide immediate first aid car for infants and children. The course also includes adult essential skills in basic life support as they differ from the skills of the infant and child.
The course meets the first aid requirements of Ofsted for the Early Years Foundation Stage standards, the National Childminding Association, the Pre-School Learning Alliance, and the Department for Children, Schools and Families Surestart guidelines for Paediatric First Aid.
This course will provide first aid skills necessary to manage an infant/child that is not breathing normally, is unconscious, bleeding or is ill or injured prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
This course which includes adult basic life support skills also meets the recommendations of the HSE Health and Safety at Work (1981) Regulations for Appointed Persons in the Workplace. This course also meets the first aid requirements of the Department for Children, Schools and Families for First Aid in Schools

Paediatric First Aid Courses are very rare and hard to find, as a childcare recruitment agency we understand the importance of baby/child injuries and resuscitation. The course is run by a professional and registered first aid trainer over two days (Saturday and Sunday) in a four star Sheffield hotel. It covers all baby ,child and adult related first aid ( mainly baby/child).
Who for: Anyone requiring Paediatric First Aid Training (Including Nursery Nurses)
Location: Sheffield
Number of Places: 12 per course. More can be arranged if required
Dates: October 4th and 5th 2008, next date to be confirmed in due course
Hours: 9.30 am- 4.30 pm
Price: £140.00 only (Cost of the course elsewhere/in London is £200+)
Extras: Three course lunch on both days, morning and afternoon refreshments throughout
both days
Assessment: Knowledge and skills assessment. Students are assessed throughout the course by instructor observation of the essential skills. There is also a summative assessment of knowledge and skills at the end of the course.
Students will practice the essential skills in small groups and will apply these skills in scenario sessions during the course.
