The dog next door came back with kennel cough, and they chat through the fence. Today Porscha was quite unwell. Coughing and hacking a bit, she's lethargic and looking pretty sorry for herself. I'm not sure if its related, just looking for advice on this and any care I can give.
Saying that she just tried to eat one of my new shoes.

Get some Homeopathic nosodes for Kennel Cough (from The Apothecary at Wickersley Tel: 01709 531177. They'll post them to you if you can't get). They should help. And keep her away from all contact with other dogs - kc is highly contageous. You should keep her away from all dogs until 10 days after she last coughed. (About 3 weeks from when it first started). While it travels in the air and on clothing and so can be passed on that way, it most certainly will be passed on by contact dog to dog. There's no real cure for it, it just has to run its course but the nosodes help ease the symptoms. It's rarely fatal but young puppies and old dogs are at higher risk.

Well she's 11 months, and seems okay apart from the hacking episodes. I'm quite cross that the other owner let her pooch out to play with P knowing she had KC. Somebody said give her kids cough linctus?

You can try her with childrens cough medicine, but if she gets really ill she will need antibiotics from the vet.
