A relative of mine died in Canada in 1922 aged just 23, nobody left in the family know the circumstances how can I find out what happened to him? Please can any kind person on this Forum point me in the right direction?

Canada's a pretty big country, bobby99. I think you'd need to narrow it down to area of a province (e.g. Greater Toronto area or Lower Mainland of BC, etc), before you could hope to get much further with this. Even then, not too many people from the early 1920s will be around to remember him.

Another thought: try and find a copy of his death certificate via one of the on line family history web sites. That should provide cause of death. Someone with more knowledge than I might be able to provide you with a link to one of the N. American sites.

Some very knowledgeable people at Sheffield Indexers (http://sheff-indexers.thewholeshebang.org) helped me with the death registration details of my Canadian relatives (1920's and 30's) - in fact they included both the registration and the details from the medical death certificate. You could try posting the details there.

I did have the advantage of knowing where they had been living.

I believe he died in Ontario on the 8th December 1922, Thanks for your reply
