I'm moving back to South Yorks to work at Rotherham Hospital. The West Rotherham area has changed out of all proportion from when I last saw it as the Treeton Pit has gone and the steelworks gone, Orgreave gone and the whole area looks really nice. I am looking for a newish place at Catcliife, Treeton or Brinsworth Phoenix or St Andrews area, and the house prices suit my budget. Any information would be very useful to help me decide. Thank you.
Beware of the properties built on the flood plains down there. Some of the land appears to be raised on the material removed from orgreave, so a detailed report on your land would be useful if considering a newbuild.
Have a look at the plans for the link rd that should go out to woodhouse mill (search on here). It may impact upon your chosen property

Depending on how much you want to spend Broom/Stag is a nice area & an excellent location for Rotherham Hospital.
Fernleigh Drive, the estate next to the phoenix in Brinsworth is now about 15 years old but has got some really nice properties ranging from 2 - 5 bedrooms. I lived there for 10 years before moving to Sheffield.
Be vary wary of the housing estate on orgreave road in Catcliffe my Grandmas house was completly flooded a few years back.
Hope this helps!
