We can't choose our birth names, are you happy with yours or which ones would you have preferred to be called?

No, I hated my original name and changed it as soon as I could. It could have been worse, I suppose. My original name was just boring. Had I been born a boy, I would have been called Austin. As if kids don't get bullied enough! Imagine how that would have been when the Austin Powers films came out, as well!

So, learning from my parents' mistake I gave my son a few names when he was born so he would have a wider choice when he got older if he hated the first one! No doubt I'll still have got it wrong though...

I used to be embarrassed of my name when I was younger, as it was different, but now I am used to it and love it! It's unusual, but not plain weird a la Fifi Trixiebell etc!

As a child I had a phase of wanting to be called Kelly, but I think that was because of Kelly from ' Saved by the Bell' more than actually liking the name!

I think the name Kelly originated from the actress Grace Kelly, and likewise Harrison from Harrison Ford - don't think I would have liked a surname as a first name

I'm kind of indifferent to my real name; it's okay, but I don't think I'd have chosen it myself... Though I don't know what I'd call myself...

I used to dislike my name and to some extent still do but there are not many women with my name so it's nice to be different .If i had chosen my own name i think i'd have picked rosie or daisy just because the flowers are pretty ( not that i am lol)

Blessed with the most common name the year I was born, my most common name mother (from the year she was born) and my most common stepfather (from the year he was born) kept it in the family by calling my sister by the most common name she was born! We are not an individualist family! We're common!

I don't mind mine, it's a bible name so it tends not to date. I used to want to be Priscilla when i was a little girl for AGES, imagine if my mother had given way when I changed my surname! :o

It was overpopular at school - there were six in my Tutor group alone! and tons in the actual year so I was always one of those whole name people... I am at work now as there is another one of me. The strange thing is someone's also got the first part of my surname so I keep thinking people are talking/asking for me and they aren't!

I quite like mine now... it's normal. The Priscilla fetish ended quite a while ago. Besides the only other name I'd want to be called is Bernard. And you don't get many mugs with that written on.

I always wanted to be called Jessica for some reason. I hated my name as a kid because of all the "I should be so lucky" comments (;)) but I suppose it grew on me as I got older lol, and on the upside, I got my own Jessica after all by naming my daughter :D
