I'm getting married next Feb and I'm looking for a 1940s suit. My fiance has a period dress (although I'm obviously not allowed to see it).
Is ther anywhere in or around sheffield that sell vintage suits?
You could try the freshmans shop on division st.
try ashley rogers at manor top. They are a bespoke tailor, but their prices seem fair. I've only had an alteration done, but the stuff in the shop looks good
they do have a website, and they do hire
There used to be a curious little shop that was on the road which runs parallel to Ecclesall Road.
There's the Hunters bar roundabout and the school as you turn left (if coming from the city) then a little back road which runs down behind the bank. Well quite a way down there used to be a little shop which sold allsorts of old things and smells very musty but you can find old flip up top hats, ancient elbow length gloves, lace fans etc, you get the idea.
No idea if it still exists. I hope so.
if not, try e-Bay, it's remarkable what you can get on there.

The owner of Freshmans (Paul Lincoln) also has an outlet that hires out costumes to film production companies. Used to be/may be still at the bottom end of Broadfield rd.
Prob best to start your enqiries at Division St as posted by meer

It does indeed - it's called The Front Parlour - however it does have slightly eratic opening times! If you have the time and are on Ecclesall road then take a trawl through the charity shops there - you will be surprised at the vintage gems you can find - though it may need a dry clean and press!!!
