I am trying to locate a property that has wheelchair access and also is usable by a person in a wheelchair. This is for a friend of mine who is finding it very difficult to find something that can be used by him. He is a young professional working on a work permit with BT in Sheffield city centre. He is married and is prepared to pay a decent rent as long as it will meet the requirements of a person in a wheelchair. We are stuck at this point as there are very few properties available in Sheffield fr an individual with these restrictions.

Can somebody kindly any kind of advise to help resolve this situation. We are getting desperate now. He is in hospital currently as he has been for almost six months now.

Most disabled properties are with the council and we are unable to access these as he is on a work permit and does not have access to public funds. He also does not drive and hence needs something that is in Sheffield to help get to work.

Regards and hope somebody can help. My Email is Shaijupaul@gmail.com

I know you're not supposed to do this, but I'd post a link to this in the disability and carers group too

if you intend posting regularly here, put it in your signature too so people will see it wherever you post

here's the disability and carers' group:
http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=103

and you'll need to have a rummage about in the menu on the left to find where to change your signature - should be in 'my control panel' somewhere

copy the address from this thread to your signature and add some blurb about what it is about

Hello All, Thanks for your support. My friend has found a property to rent on Blonk Street right in the middle of the city via Reeds Rains. This building has two lifts and the accomodation is practically new. They have now moved in to the accomodation. Many thanks again for your kind support and well wishes. Regards
