View Full Version : Stress, and relieving it *Ryan* 06-05-2005, 07:42 tally ho.. has anyone got any remedies for stress? worklife, peoplelife, going out life.. ggrr viking 06-05-2005, 07:50 Stress relief, one of the following: A photo of Maggie Thatcher on a punchbag,or, A photo of Anna Kournikova and some tissues. beansfeast 06-05-2005, 07:57 I read in the news recently that having your bottom smacked by the opposite sex releases endorphenes which makes you happier and more stress-free. However it didn't seem to work on the angry looking woman on the bus this morning. She seemed to have got the wrong end of the stick and returned the smack on my face cheek instead! :heyhey: viking 06-05-2005, 08:02 Originally posted by Briano I read in the news recently that having your bottom smacked by the opposite sex releases endorphenes which makes you happier and more stress-free. Not surprised she got monk on. pdrnsf 06-05-2005, 08:35 You probably will laugh, but i find 30 mins on the treadmill has been helping me tonnes recently. x viking 06-05-2005, 08:40 On a more serious note. I find a good sauna, then steam room, and finally a cold shower does the trick. All these facilities are available at Hellaby Hall, Including swimming pool and fully equiped Gym. Katya 06-05-2005, 08:51 St John's Wort is a good stress reliever - you can get it either as tablets or in teabags. *Ryan* 06-05-2005, 08:56 tell me, where is the hellaby hall? excersise is a good thing? beansfeast 06-05-2005, 08:56 Originally posted by viking Why did you hit her with a stick? Not surprised she got monk on. I hit her with a stick because she looked stressed and unhappy, thought it might help! Also, there certainly weren't any monks around at the time - I would've noticed. ;) dawny1 06-05-2005, 09:09 Going on Forum helps me calm down - that and beating my head against a wall. Think I might try the spanking thing!!! :heyhey: Although I'd rather be the spankee but may get carried away and cause flesh to be flayed off cos I do get very stressed! Not sure my bloke would appreciate a trip to the skin graft department. May have to enquire on the Wanted section for a thick skinned volunteer!! :hihi: dishwasher 06-05-2005, 09:37 Excercise is a great stress reliever. There's nothing better than a brisk walk on the moors to blow the cobwebs away and get some fresh air into your lungs. It's free too! Try swimming for 30 minutes. You'll feel fantastic after that. *Ryan* 06-05-2005, 09:45 ill give that a try, holidays are always good, does anyone think nightclubs are annoying at times>? You need to set aside time to do something you enjoy. Another important factor is organisation. If you are organised enough then you will have the space and time to do something relaxing. The suggestion of a sauna is a good one, just make sure that you don't get stuck in traffic going there, find one you can walk to. scottf 06-05-2005, 10:46 Originally posted by viking On a more serious note. You have to choose a quick fire game like Quake 3 arena or Team Fortress Classic ( a Half life mod) with lots of violence nothing better than kicking the ass of some yanks or germans on a game server. Bliss:clap: FatherDougal 06-05-2005, 17:06 Buy a bike and cycle to and from work. I'm usually so knackered by the time I get home to Ranmoor from Mowbray Street that I don't have the energy left to be stressed. Seriously though, regular exercise will definitely help. Strix 06-05-2005, 17:12 I think I need to take up martial arts again. The excercise helps, but I find gyms mind-numbing. They leave you too much time to dwell on the things playing on your mind. Martial arts force you to concentrate on something else for a while - like stopping that kick from landing in your face! :hihi:  |
