Gemima 06-09-2008, 12:56 PM I have been to an equestrian car boot a while ago and thought about organising a "pet car boot" obviously no live animals before anyone even thinks about it.
All proceeds from the car stand price £5.00 would go to Sheffield Dog Rescue, we would also charge 70p entrance fee for buying customers. It is just an idea at the moment and we would need to find a field but just wondered what thoughts people had and also if you would be interested as a booter or buyer.
As a buyer yes sounds like a great idea
Rainrescue 06-09-2008, 02:55 PM Booter and Buyer - yep - great idea -
Maybe that people could sell other things too? or are you just keeping it solely to pet things?
I think this would appeal to all the enterprising forumers who are developing pet based business also the rescues maybe able to sell items and make some money i.e. cats, gap, Rain (if i can think of something we can sell lol). I think this is a really good idea and if people supported it profitable for all involved.
sezbetz 06-09-2008, 07:24 PM would def be interested as a buyer and possibly a booter if it wasnt restricted soley to pet items.
ami_j 06-09-2008, 07:46 PM just let me know if anyones taking any second hand hamster cages lol
Jobi-Wan 06-09-2008, 07:47 PM I have a few bits to sell, and am after some small rugs too.
You're likely to get quite a few if you aim it at the horsey lot too.
kitty123 06-09-2008, 10:02 PM I am in got loads of stuff to sell
carriewarr 07-09-2008, 11:49 AM Depending on the time of year, I'd be up for running a stall for K9knitters (http://www.k9knitters.co.uk) at this.....and would happily donate a proportion of takings to Sheffield Dog Rescue (with the rest going to the two K9knitters charities).
Let me know how plans develop!
Cheers, Carrie
*Peaches* 07-09-2008, 11:54 AM I'd happily set up a stand to cut piggy nails and donate the proceeds to one of the rescues :)
haddockman 07-09-2008, 12:01 PM I'd definately be interested in buying a few things if it was somewhere within easy reach by public transport! Great idea about cutting nails *Peaches*, think that would be very popular if people knew about it! :)
*Peaches* 07-09-2008, 12:24 PM I'd offer to do Rabbits but I can't do them :hihi:
haddockman 07-09-2008, 12:26 PM We need to attempt to do our tribe this evening!! Should see how big the little one is now! :o
*Peaches* 07-09-2008, 12:27 PM I can imaging, I still have both his sisters ;)
IluvStaffys 07-09-2008, 12:28 PM Great idea guys, i would defo come along and bargain hunt
haddockman 07-09-2008, 12:29 PM I can imaging, I still have both his sisters ;)
Awww, still got them :(
Don't think we're looking at enlarging our collection again yet......but sure LM has other ideas :P
*Peaches* 07-09-2008, 12:50 PM They aren't for sale :hihi: though I do have others for adoption but hey, thats another thread :)
Gemima 07-09-2008, 02:07 PM Fantastic all we need now is a field. Any stalls, car boots are welcome, so all the ideas mentioned will be great.
So....does anyone know any nice farmers I can approach or even better a hard standing, car park might be better seeing as most fields will be boggy?
If anyone has any ideas for location and size of area (bigger the better) and we will need car parking areas for buyers, then let me know and I will do some phoning round.
K9 knitters stall would be brilliant and anyone selling dogs coats, jumpers, collars again great. I hate buying stuff from the big pet shops and would much rather spend money on quality items where i know either a small business or a charity is benefitting and i wouldn't expect it to be car boot prices either. Gemima this would be great if it could be organised. I shall need to get saving my money ready lol
feline01 07-09-2008, 10:18 PM Yes, I would definately be interested in coming along to buy.
x
DaFoot 08-09-2008, 09:21 AM Sounds interesting.
I'll be following this one to see how it goes, maybe even setup a stall myself, though I'm not sure it would be the sort event that would work for me as a seller.
