I am just beginning to think about marrying the OH after 6 long years:hihi::hihi:
The thing is, I've always wanted a Christmas wedding and it has to snow!!

Been today to travel agents to enquire about Lapland but there's two problems:

Number 1: you can only book a year in advance (or so I'm told at co-op travel) and I need time to save towards it!!!

Number 2: It was over 10 grand for 4 days accomodation for 10 adults and 5 children before the wedding package was added on!!

the problem with only booking a yr in advance is that we have really no idea as to what the final price would be until it's too close for comfort!

So my questions are these:

Anyone know of anywhere other than Lapland where I could guarantee snow?

Anywhere that would let us book for say 2010 and give us a price?

Does anyone think I should just settle for Xmas here and forgoe my snowy dream???:cry::cry:

Why book now?

Save up for a year, so you are well in advance and then book for the following year. Or you could also enquire about one of those snow machines. Sorry I don't know who has them, but have a look on the Internet. You could have it snowing for your wedding photographs!

why lapland?

aren't there plenty of other places with snow which are more accessible?

How about Sweden or Norway?

I've never quite got my head round Christmas weddings, as everybody else on the planet has other agendas at that time of year. How about brightening up that dull part of the year where nobody's got anything to do anyway, and negotiate a fantastic deal on a castle in Scotland in February?

Canada (interior) can be reasonably cheap and has guaranteed snow at Christmas. They speak English, and there are some fabulous places with wonderful scenery.

That looks fab Jayne, I only wanted to book so we knew where we were going and when cos the OH is very good at finding other things to spend money on!!! If it's booked he won't have a choice:thumbsup:

My friends son got married in Austria earlier this year. The photos have loads of snow on them and it looks great.

I would have thought any ski resort would work.

My brother in law runs coach trips to ski resorts, usually for school trips, but maybe you should get him to run one for you? :)
