Sheffield Theatres, in partnership with Evolution Pantomimes are looking for the Junior Ensemble for their pantomime, Aladdin, which will run in Sheffield Lyceum Theatre this Christmas.
Registrations for the auditions take place 9.30am on Sunday 14th September at the Lyceum Theatre. Young people need to be 7 - 16 years and ideally from Yorkshire. 24 boys and girls are needed to join the all dancing and singing cast. The young people need to be no taller than 5’4 and the audition is predominately for the dancing ensemble therefore auditonees must come wearing comfortable clothes and soft/dance shoes. Sheffield Theatres requires the total commitment of the pantomime from the rehearsal period to the full run of performance, 24th November 2008 – 10th January 2009.
‘We are on the look out for some fantastic local talent,’ says Sheffield Theatres’ newly appointed Administrative Producer Ali Fowler. ‘This is an amazing opportunity for those wanting professional stage experience in one of the country’s most exciting theatre complexes. Yorkshire has some great hidden talent and we are looking to harness that’.
The chosen ensemble will star alongside an all star cast including: Phil Daniels (Eastenders, Quadrophenia and Blurs Parklife!) as Abanazar, Kevin Sacre (Jake Dean from Hollyoaks) as Aladdin and local favourite Bobby Knutt as the Chinese Policeman.
