I am often asked what happens if one of my tarantulas were to bite me, so I thought it'd be informative to share reports when I come across them.
Remember that these comments are written by the person bitten usually and may not always be 100% impartial, they may be prone to the ol' fishing stories "it was this big" if you get the idea....
Usumbara Orange Baboon, this species is well known as aggressive and willing to defend itself - hence why it shouldn't be recommended to new spider keepers. Seems like a particularly bad bite:

Thank you DaFoot - never for one second considered owning a spider anyway - but now I know I never will!

I have passed this onto hubby lol
My friend is a GP tells me she hasn't seen any tarantula bite in 30 years of practice though lol

Most hobbyists would like to see how the bite will affect them I suspect or simply take anti-histamine to calm it down. While I wouldn't want to be bitten by one of mine, I must admit I am curious about the affects and may well leave it for a while to see the affects should I get 'tagged'! :loopy:
So no need for docs unless it's a bad reaction like in the Orange Baboon report :hihi:

One of mine threatened at one point, but she just wanted me to leave her alone (I hadn't spotted that she was starting to shed until she warned me- silly me) and neither of them bit me.
Octavia's dinner bit me once though, and one of my snakes gave me a nip (but his teeth didn't break the skin).

had had, and have various baboons, and yes evil spids!
had a few T bites and scorps, from a C rose just light headedness and a swelling, with a giant blue scorp, swollen arm, bad sweats, bad fever, heart palps....for a few days.
each person is affected differantly, had a few bites from mildly venomous snakes too, but nothing bad.
