cuddlycats 04-09-2008, 06:28 PM Thanks for everyone's advise last week re Leopard geckos, but after speaking to the guys at the lizard lounge, and snake shop, ive decided a crested gecko was more for me.
Ive just been to the snake shop and reserved the little cutie, im picking him up next week. I think its a flame (pale green, beigey colour with a yellow stripe down its back).
Ill post pics when its settled in. I think ill provisionally give him the highly unoriginal name of Spike-until i find out if he is actually a he or she.

teresatheory 04-09-2008, 07:59 PM looking forward to seeing pictures of Spike! xx
carpetviper 04-09-2008, 11:57 PM Flames have red sides make sure your getting the morph your paying for.
How much is it a true flame would be about £90-£100
cuddlycats 05-09-2008, 12:18 AM It looks similar to this:
I know absolutely nothing about morphs tbh-i just wanted a pretty one that was all brown etc. Its costing me £65. Not picking it up until next weekend so if you are passing snake shop, have a look and let me know what it is.
Im confused tho as the crested gecko websites and the crestie book ive got state that flame is not a colour but a pattern on any colour.

DaFoot 05-09-2008, 09:16 AM I love cresties. Every intention of getting one (or two or three!) once we've moved :)
Don't forget we want to see pics of 'spike' :)

cuddlycats 05-09-2008, 08:24 PM He's lovely. They only had a couple of buckskins at lizard lounge and i wanted something with more colour. I toyed with getting one off the net and having it couriered but not sure how humane that was.
carpetviper 05-09-2008, 08:27 PM Theres always reptile taxi but it can be costly.
lizard lounge have cresties in.
cuddlycats 05-09-2008, 08:29 PM Only buckskins though. Ive paid for the one at the snake shop-although if it wasn't for the space i think i may have got a skink.
carpetviper 05-09-2008, 09:57 PM you could have had sand fish they are like small skinks.
I personally like bluetongues
cuddlycats 05-09-2008, 10:04 PM Thats what i was looking at-a blue tongue, it was £85. John in snake shop says they make great pets as are very tame. I just need a bigger house 1st.
