There may be details at http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org/. LesMcQueen 05-05-2005, 11:41 You may consider using AnyDVD from Slysoft (http://www.slysoft.com). It's a filter driver that sits between XP and the disk controller. It does numerous things, including making any DVD you watch look like it's a region 0 disc. It also removes user prohibitions from discs. :) melthebell 05-05-2005, 18:43 dont forget tho it may be the drive, most drives let you change the region code so many times, normally about 6, then when youve done it 6 times, it locks and you can only use it for that region FOREVER!! ........or so they say, ive never dared try it to find out tbh :) LesMcQueen 05-05-2005, 18:51 Originally posted by melthebell then when youve done it 6 times, it locks and you can only use it for that region FOREVER!! AnyDVD circumvents this as it effectively (and transparently!) makes all discs Region 0. Even hard locked drives should play region 0. alchresearch 05-05-2005, 21:50 DVD Genie is also a piece of software that ignores the code. Coupled with PowerDVD you should have no problems. You should definetly check out the firmware page that Sccsux mentioned, although I'm not sure if that one covers the 109. This page definetly does: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2017 Upgrading your firmware, though risky, gives your DVD drive better compatability and faster extraction of data. I've got a Pioneer 107 and the firmware upgraded it from 4x to 8x. |
