I have four fuchsias, in pots, in my garden.

They are all the same hardy strain.

However, despite them being hardies, and it not beinfg cold/ frosty, two of them have lost their leaves (the one in a pot on its own, the other in the middle of the other two, in a planter)

The one on its own has started budding with leaves again, but the one in the group of 3 doesn't seem to be "coming back" at all.

anyone got any ideas?

Thanks for (sensible) answers in advance.

Did they get too wet? If you haven't raised the pots, the water might not drain properly ...

Thanks for that thought, Womerry,

Yes, they do have drainage, (crocks in the base of the pot to let the excess water drain away.)

I have pots (crocks in the bottom third) along the garden path, but some damp soil washed down by the rain formed a seal around the bottom of two of them, and I only noticed that the pots had been filling up with rain water when the plants started looking very miserable indeed.

Pot feet tend to be unbearably twee or very expensive (or even both!), so I made squares slightly smaller than the bottom circumference of the pots by wiring together sticks/canes. The pots stand one these nearly invisible frames and the water can drain through.
