There is a boy on our street aged 5 and 3. They are running up and down the street all day there there from about 9 in a morning and are sometimes out as late as 10, The parents are never out with them and the children always look quite dirty. Alot of the time the girl will just sit outside our house, im sure she dont wanna be outside, often she can be heard crying quite loud on the street and the parents hardly come out sometimes she cries up to 15 mins. Now today my kids were in the back garden, they came down the side of the house and were really begging for food as my children were having a sandwich, we told them to ask there mum and dad but they said they hadnt got any food in, we didnt want to give them anything because you never know what they are or aren't allowed,

It seems to us as the kids aren't cared for or looked after, should we do anything?

Hmmmm, this is a difficult one. The situation certainly doesn't sound very good. How about going round to your next door neighbours and telling them that their children came into your back garden asking for food. See what their reaction is. At least then you will be able to get a better perspective on the situation before you make your decision.

Because there not the sort of family you can talk too if you get my drift, there always asking someone else as well for food

You can make a report of concern to SafetyNet or phone the local Surestart with your concerns.

Sounds like you're best contacting someone for advice, like one of the groups in Zebra's post. I hope things work out ok.
