I remember lots of people from there and still see some of them. Would like to contact Richard (Dick) Smith who left the same time as me. Dick was a good goalkeeper and I think played for Sheffield boys. Pity the old school has gone in some ways, though looking back not sure it was "fit for purpose" melthebell 09-04-2007, 20:09 im from woodhouse but used to hand around the triangle AND oakhouse chippies in the mid 80s also our school beaver hill used to fight brook previous to that :P i used to have a skinhead mate that used to live in the pub opposite the oakhouse in the mid 80s too, forgot his name now larryann 10-04-2007, 20:35 I went to Athelstan infant and junior schools until 1967 then Beaver Hill, leaving in1972. Lived on Ballifield estate and had a lot of friends in Woodhouse. We used to fight with St John Fishers school. The oak house used to serve up great fish and chips, we ate them out of the paper walking down Handsworth road after a night out. SILLY 13-04-2007, 20:33 I went to Brook left in 1960 my husband went to Athelstan and Brook he also left in 1960 .Best years of I lives I suppose although we didn't think so at the time.
