Sheffield Community transport may be able to tell you honeyb35 01-09-2008, 20:04 sorry, didnt write that properly, stupid laptop! :hihi: I meant do you think they're ok, or had any problems with them? My son is starting to use them one day a week so I was just being nosy sumayyah 01-09-2008, 20:34 i forgot to fill my forms in! madam was supposed to be using the bus everyday..... whoops sumayyah 01-09-2008, 20:37 ruqayyah used to go on the bus in belfast and she loved it! only thing tht bothered me was since theres just one escort on the buses there and you need 2 to give meds and oxygen etc if she was to take bad on the bus they couldnt put her oxygen on so would have to call an ambulance and send her on her own to hospital. not sure what the ratio is over here thou honeyb35 01-09-2008, 21:45 i've no idea, i'm just a bit annoyed that they can't tell me what time they'll be calling for him ('if you have him ready for 8am thats fine') so chances are he could be sat on a bus for an hour (he gets travel sick lol) and that they had completely the wrong day / times written down  bit worried about trusting them with him tbh! Plain Talker 02-09-2008, 09:51 Sheffield Community transport may be able to tell you SCT aren't the contractor for the schools run. It's Sheffield City Council Transport Services who do the minibuses for the school runs. A lot of taxi drivers are contracted to the council, too, for the children who don't have specialist equipment, wheelchairs etc. sumayyah 02-09-2008, 18:37 ruqayyahs first day at the place in belfast i had to have her ready from 8am as the bus could pick up any time between 8am and 9.30. as it turned out she was second to last and was picked up just after 9am so i knew for future days to go with that time honeyb35 11-09-2008, 08:03 well its mattys first day on the school bus.....and it hasnt turned up!! Just waiting for the bloke in the office to get back to me and let me know whats happened! espadrille 11-09-2008, 09:21 well its mattys first day on the school bus.....and it hasnt turned up!! Perhaps the newbies start a little later? honeyb35 11-09-2008, 14:00 Not a good start then. nope not at all. I had to go out so I ended up leaving him with his dad, so I missed him going on the bus for the first time (they showed up about 10ish I think). It might not sound a big deal but I was heartbroken! :( sumayyah 11-09-2008, 16:39 ahh right. never did get my papers filled in so i will be driving her everyday rjperrelli 14-09-2008, 19:44 I have found that the transport drivers and escorts are great. The people who organise the transport are not so good! Every year they send me a letter telling me when transport will be starting and every year it is wrong! A slight change in arrangements seems to throw them into turmoil. A phone calls sorts it out though and everything tends to run smoothly after that. I really appreciate the transport service as I would not be able to go to work without it. espadrille 15-09-2008, 07:19 I was at a cabinet meeting last week with Autism alliance and this subject was brought up by a lady who uses the service. I think that Paul Scriven is going to respond to her directly. I was impressed with Paul Scriven, I must say. honeyb35 15-09-2008, 08:55 I was at a cabinet meeting last week with Autism alliance and this subject was brought up by a lady who uses the service.
