sometimes the recovery software to reinstall xp to the way it was bought is on a section of the hard disknot on a cd. If you have wiped this partition, you will need to reinstall XP from a CD.
If you dont have a cd you may be able to order one from the manufacturer of your laptop, if not, im afraid its off to buy one.
reboot = simply restating the laptop
XP = operating system, the software that is insstalled and allows you to use the hardware.

Modern Acers come with two blank DVD disks and something called "Empowering" software which lets you burn an image of the hard drive to the disks.
Go into the bios, enable recovery boot, Then tap F12 on boot up (It will say this at the bottom of the first screen when you first turn it on) this will give you the option to load into recovery mode.
