Does any one know the unlock code for the Philips DVD 956 matchline. I have a few films that I can not watch as my DVD player doesn't have the right region codes.

This might work - http://www.dvdanswers.com/index.php?r=0&s=3&p=all&c=7

Edit: Scott's suggestion looks like it may be easier though!

Googling for unlock codes for your model of DVD player brought up this (http://www.dvdcodes.net/Philips/Philips1000plus.htm)

i used this site
http://www.area450.com/index.html

all i had to do was burn a cd with a text file with some numbers in and titled correctly, then play it in the dvd player and its changed the region to zero
to change back to region 2 or any other regions you just burn another cd with the correct text file, the number in the file normally ends in 0 for region 0, 1 for region 1 etc

And you can buy a decent all singing all dancing proper multi-region DVD player for about £30-40 nowadays, Amazon (http://www.sheffieldforum.com/amazon) sells them for £20 apparently.
