I have been searching the internet for allotments and have found this

The third of the city that is urban contains a wide variety of parks, woodlands and green open spaces. The city-owned greenspaces include: 78 public Parks, 10 Gardens, over 170 Woodlands, over130 Children's Playgrounds, 74 Allotment sites, 1 Animal Farm, 24 Sports sites, and hundreds of other green open spaces. There are also 45

in a report online. since the sheffield counicl website lists around 30 sites, and i know of 1 private site, where are the rest?!?
are there any other private sites im not aware of? ive heard rumors of one behind tesco on eccy rd...

The others may be set-aside. These are allotments sites that went into disrepair. The council effectively closed the site down. They are still allotment land and can be returned to allotments but they may be very wooded and would require a lot of ranger time to bring back into use. There is talk of bringing the other half of manor back into use but until there is sufficient demand in that part of the city this won't happen. I don't kow how many set-aside sites there are- I only know of 2 but there are possibly others. The Parks and Countryside dept. is under increasing pressure from fustrated people waiting for allotments. The current waiting list in Sheffield has 1800 on it.

There's what I assume to be a 'set aside' site over the road from ours (Hagg House - we're officially Hagg House 2, so I assume that would have been Hagg House 1?). We're seeing if there's anything we can do to get it open again since our site is now full, as are the rest around there. Yes it's a mess and requires a lot of work, but to be honest it's no worse than those many people took on on Hagg House 1 without any help. It's unlikely the council will open it just via pressure to the allotment office, it would need pressure to come from councillors in my opinion.

There's also a large private site off Bolehill Road - well it looks quite large on Google. Don't know anything more about it though, and sure it's not fully occupied.

I'll try to find out through the Fed how many allotment sites are 'set aside', how many plots this amounts to and where they are. I know Parks and Countryside is going to put a map of all Council allotment sites on their website so maybe we can also ask them to put set aside sites on it too.
