I am dipping my toes (for choice of a better phrase) into the world of coldwater fish. Me and my girlfriend were bought a baby Bi-orb 15l as a gift which we have since filled with a common goldfish, a flat-tail fish and as I type I have just purchased and still bagged is a Chinese Algae Eater.

I have recently had 2 orandos and a chinese sucker fish all die on me, which is extremely frustrating. Therefore, I am looking to find good advice pages/forums/communities on the net hard to come by.

So if there are any nice proficient fish people reading this - Could you please spare me and the fish the despair of further fishy-fatalities by answering:

1. Can the three said fish live together (I am thinking of moving on the very dirty, bullyish common goldfish).

2. How many fish can I have within a Baby Bi-Orb.

3. How often must I feed them, and what?

4. How often must a third of the water be changed.

5. How often must the filter be changed.

6. Are there any good ornaments/plants that would keep the fish 'happy'?

7. Finally any particular hints, tips, good practice's, handbooks that may increase my proficiency in handling these fish.

You might find this forum helpful, they have a coldwater part

Have you cycled the tank so the water is suitable for the fish?

How long must I cycle for? I have both fish in now and I have moved greedy, bully common goldfish into a separate bowl while the chinese algae eater settles in.

Is it too late to cycle and what would you advise being my next step?
