Is anyone else into Manga? If so what have you enjoyed reading? Ive read the Akira books but wondered what else was good to read. Are the Tokyopop books any good?

I can't speak for the books, but I've always liked the pictures.

I love Masamune Shirow's Dominion series of manga. Totally messed up genius!

The Appleseed series is worth picking up too. Also Ghost In The Shell......in fact, anything Shirow makes is worth a read!

I find Manga pretty creepy in general and can't see the appeal myself, but each to their own.

Ghost in the Machine is about all i've seen film wise. Dragonball-Z as well. How can a grown man enjoy DBZ? :?

I'm not a massive fan of Manga/Anime but I do like some of them. I always loved the Japanese cartoon that were on TV when I was young (Mysterious Cities Of Gold, Ulysses 31 etc) so I started watch Anime films as I got older (Castle In The Sky, Akira, Ghost In The Shell).

Lately I've been getting into the series that have coming out such as Last Exile, Ghost In The Shell:Stand Alone Complex, Samurai 7, Death Note) which are all fantastic.

My all-time favourite though is Perfect Blue.

You'd be surprised. Mind you, loads of people love Dragonball (yes, the serieis before DBZ), as the young Goku is just completely uneducated and innocent, so he'll wander into all kinds of fun situations without really realising what he's doing. Gotta love it when he catches Bulma in the bath and asks why she has "a butt on her chest" :hihi:

But yeah, there's plenty of great anime and manga out there - there's some that's not so great too, but that's no reason to judge the medium as a whole. Heck, I even draw in the manga style, myself!

I am writing some short stories for children, and need someone who can naturally do anime, manga style japanese cartoon type character hand drawings and maybe computer aided animal images for me . Small fee to be agreed, would need to see some of your previous work.
