View Full Version : And YOU think British politics is vacuous! evildrneil 04-05-2005, 10:32 Try this on for political aspirations and goals! http://uk.news.yahoo.com/050504/364/fi1nh.html only in America! Swan_Vesta 04-05-2005, 10:46 Yet again I'm stunned by the foolish ideas some people allow to leak out of their silly heads. Poor show to the media for even publishing this anti news - I realise this will be hailed as the biggest thing since the Beatles by Heat magazine readers but as a grownup I find it daft. Maybe if we ignored her she'd go away? Phanerothyme 04-05-2005, 10:50 If British politics is vaccuous, then that presumably has some bovine implications ( :P ) It is vacuous however, when all three parties are campaigning on a ticket of a)supporting good things, like kittens and babies b)cracking down on the bad things in life. J-Lo is a shining star of political philosophy by comparison. J-Lo for PM. AJ sheffield 04-05-2005, 11:27 If Lopez needs vigorous hand movements to get rid of her stress she only has to phone me up and we can come to some sort of arrangement. How depressing. Sierra 04-05-2005, 15:36 *Sighs* Oh my. Here we go again. I notice there is a tendency for foreign media to pick out the most miniscule, insane, ridiculous aspects of American society and report on it as the gospel truth, like it's really gonna happen. Does anyone verify this sh*t before they print it? As surefire proof that Americans MUST be crazy. It's not news where I am. And who knows if Jennifer Lopez actually said these things? Newspapers and magazines the world over, but especially in foreign countries, routinely print made up lies about celebrities knowing that: A. They'll never see it. Or: B. They know about it, but don't want to go through the hassle of suing them. It's usually an exercise in futility. As the baseball manager Tommy Lasorda said, "never argue with people who buy ink by the gallon". Better to ignore it and get on with their lives. More likely what happened was she answered a question, and they twisted her words around, and came up with this garbage, or they stole the interview from someone else. Happens all the time. And hey. I live in California. I like Ahhnold. He's doing a decent job as governor. What are politicians after all but actors? Although I could do without his meddling wife. http://www.governor.ca.gov/state/govsite/gov_homepage.jsp And evildrneil, I see you are a Charlie's Angels fan. Have you seen this show? Chasing Farrah. http://www.tvland.com/originals/chasing_farrah/minisite/index.jhtml I watched a marathon this weekend, and it was suprisingly entertaining. :) Sierra |
