Hi

I have a kitten she is 10 weeks old, she had her 1st set of injections on Saturday.

I have had her 4 weeks and she is always full of life and racing around but when I came home last night she was different.

Over last 24 hours its like she has been spoked, she is jumping and at nothing or even her shadow. She is not wanting cuddles and just seems down. When I go to stroke her she just jumps away as if she is scared of me. No Purrring or Miowing.

She is off her food, but there are no problems with sickness or toliet problems.

I live on my own so noone has upset her while I was out yesterday.

Any ideas??

A trip to the vet, multiple vaccinations and loneliness may well add up to a sad little kitten.

I wouldn't be leaving her alone if she is off her food, make sure she takes some liquid (I believe you can use human oral rehydration salts for cats) - use a syringe if necessary. A kitten who doesn't eat or drink is not long for the world.

if you think about the injections they are actually injecting a form of disease into her to get her immune system to react to it, she is probably just feeling a bit poorly as her body fights this. try to get her to drink some fluids, if you cannot get her to eat dont worry straight away as long as you get her to drink she should be ok for a day or 2. if your stil worried ring the vets:thumbsup:

Awww poor little thing, sounds like she needs a bit of tlc.

Has she got plenty of toys and things to occupy her while you are out?

Perhaps leave a radio on or something and try not to leave her for too long. A bit of time, patience and a lot of love should soon have her back to normal but please make sure she drinks something, at such a young age they can de-hydrate very quickly.

Let me know how she's getting on

At this age and at such a traumatic time (the Vet will probably be the first stranger apart from you who's handled her) she needs some extra attention and TLC.

If you can manage it take some time off work and spend some quality time with her. Make sure she has drink available, fresh, smelly food to tempt her and somewhere quiet but within easy access for you where she can retreat to.

Keep us posted!

Is she on her own all day?

How about another girl cat to keep her company?

Ours have endless fun stalking each other!
