Anyone else voting for the first time this Thursday? I am, I'm quite excited actually...in a 'wow I can have an effect on the country finally' kind of way.

From *that* Fast Show scene.......... HA! march 04-05-2005, 07:48 This will be the first time I can vote in the general election, however I wont be doing so. Without using proportional representation it is pointless where I live. Surely this would be a better way of doing it? Lucy_Smith 04-05-2005, 07:57 I'm a first time voter and I'm looking forward to finally having my say! I'm amazed at the number of young people who won't be voting though, I read somewhere that only 20% of people aged 18-24 will vote. I think that is so sad, but sometimes I do wonder myself what the point is. All politicians seem the same! But then I remind myself of all the women who had to fight hard for the female vote and I feel that if I didn't vote it would be an insult to their memory. To be honest though, that's about the only reason I will be voting, not because I feel any particular party is gonna do anything special... Phanerothyme 04-05-2005, 08:13 I will be voting with my conscience and against Labour. noseyrosie 04-05-2005, 12:04 Originally posted by Phanerothyme I will be voting with my conscience and against Labour.
