For those with GSDs or thinking of buying a GSD this is a searchable site, you need the dogs name etc and you can then search the ancestory of the dog including any genetic health problems. I think this is a real step forward and wish them well in an effort to make information more available to the pet buying public ( problem is many wont know to look for genetic problems)

That's great! Unfortunately our beastie didn't come with any papers so I can't look him up but it's a great idea :)

Just had a search around and its been running for some time, but no one seems to know much about it. However there is a lot of interest on the pedigree database recently so it seems to be being regenerated... perhaps in view of the recent tv programme.
I am putting my old dogs on when I get some time... more on there the better think I!
