Well, after much discussion this evening, we have decided we will be adding 3 new maine coons to our rapidly expanding family. The breeder who we got Princess Delilah from is having to give up due to her husbands asthma. So here are the pictures she's sent me. Lexi is Delilah's mum, the other 2 are none related. They will be arriving in a couple of weeks or so when we've prepared for them :D

They are gorgeous! Will you continue breeding them?

If I were their owner I think I would have given up the husband and kept the cats :D

Yes, when i first got Delilah, i planned to take her back to the breeder for stud. But now the stud is coming to me :D I plan to breed and show eventually. I would have probably given the husband up too lol. Mind you, the breeder has a big menagerie of other animals that don't affect hubby. She's got 7 dogs which she breeds and she has chickens, ducks, rabbits, and is having all my remaining rabbits!

OH MY GODDDDDDDDD! Claude  Just out of curiosity how much do they sell for? *prepares for a heart attack*

It depends - for show or pet ie; on the none-active register, she sells them for £350 but on the active register for breeding, like Delilah, she sells them for £500 (Queens) and around £700 for Toms. I'm pretty sure that's with no restrictions, which a lot of breeders won't do at all.

I was quite surprised as a friend of mine breeds persians, and they sell for upwards of £750 just for PET!!

thankyou - we've been very lucky to have been given this opportunity. She has hung onto them for me until my hubby got back into work, as she knows that I will love them like she does. Unfortunately, something has to give, so I have to give up my rabbits if I want to follow my dream of breeding and showing posh cats. But, I can always visit them, as she can visit her cats here, so everybody's happy :D

hahaha - she reckons Bella is about 3 weeks pregnant and now she tells me Lexi could be pregnant also as they've had to live in the outside run with the tom for the last few weeks :o

Lisa how much would you sell one for? shh don't tell Dave

I'll be selling them at roughly the same price as the breeder does now. ie: pet or show £350 males & females or breeding £500 / £700 ish. I THINK that's what she said - I've got so much info going round in my head at the moment, and the conversion of the new cattery, my brain is getting puddled lol. That is fully vaccinated, wormed, flead and vet checked. I think some breeders sell at 9 or 10 weeks without all that package, for about £250.

I love kitties, but not that much :hihi:

I've always loved pedigree cats but have always had moggies. I surprised myself at how much I paid for Delilah really but I knew I would want to breed her some day, hence getting her on the active register. It was "suggested" that I rehome my moggies to concentrate on the coons :o Not my babies, no way! The coons will come and the moggies will stay :D

Seriously cute cats - gets me all goose pimpley when I see lovely cats like that. I mean everyone goes "awww cutie" when you see a kitten - but those are seriously groovy cats.

I really must stop drooling over other peoples cats and get myself a new furry friend.....ho hum :help:
