Just wondering who people think will win the CL semi-final tonight. As a Liverpool fan I hope we go through obviously, but it'll be a close run thing. We'll miss Alonso for sure.

My dream is for Gerrard to score the winner and as he's celebrating runs up to Jose and tells him to 'shushhh!'...

I have a gut feeling that Liverpool could do it tonight....

I'm gonna say Liverpool 2-1. :D

I think everybody, apart from the Chelsea fans, will be hoping for that.

I think the blues will go through... Liverpool have a descent team but are no match for good Chelsea side... On the other hand I would prefer Liverpool to go through...

I must admit that I am very nervous about tonight. I just wish that Benitez hadn't issued a statement saying that we would definitely win. It's not his style to be arrogant and it could just tempt fate.

One thing I am looking forward to is the atmosphere at Anfield. It will put the 'dull as dishwater' atmosphere at Stamford Bridge last week to shame.

I think to be fair to Rafa he said it tongue in cheek with a smile on his face. He's got a very dry sense of humour which doesn't always come off in print. Remember one win this season where he said it was "possibly the best performance by a Liverpool side in 40 years" - an obvious dig at the pundits who were calling them the worst Liverpool side since before Shankley's time!

Fair point, things quite often get lost in translation. I know he's not an arrogant manager.

Come on Liverpool!

I think Chelsea certainly have the advantage from the first leg with no away goal but anything is possible.

I do for one... all the talk about chelsea winning all these cups this year-- 4 was it at the start of the season?

And how many they actually won?
2 ... pretty **** really if you consider all the cash they spent.

A league cup and a premiership.... big whoop.

But then again we probably will only win the FA cup this year so they have done better than us unfortunately.

Gerrard is off at the end of the season and I probably would put money on it too.. where he is going to is a different question entirely.

Chelski see to be the best bet at the minute and I cant see him at MU.. I would love to see him there.. but I dont think liverpool will let him go to us but you never know in football.

We did have luck tonight, but Chelsea didn't score so it makes no difference. More to the point, We have played magnificently in the Champs league so far. it's not like we've fluked our way to the final. I now believe we can go all the way.

Come on Liverpool!!!!!

It's called European football. It would be very nice to win with style and panache, but it doesn't always get you through - look at Barcelona. And if the goal had been disallowed, Cech would been sent off, Liverpool would have had a penalty. The ref took the easy way out to be quite frank.

Chelsea had to score a goal. They didn't. Liverpool defended like their lives depended on it. Which is the club with the lack of ambition there?

Besides "The Special One" himself won the Champions League last season with a team that cheated and dived its way to the final and I for one was very happy to see that smug grin wiped off his face at the final whistle last night.

"Special One" - the fella's special alright.
Just not in the way he thinks.

Chelsea had their chances and didn't take them. I don't see how the linesman can say it was goal when it wasn't in position to see it.

I've heard people complaining about the extra 6 minutes added on. Some of this was due to those idiot Liverpool fans who ran onto the pitch.

I think Liverpool have a real chance of winning providing they can put in a repeat performance.

I read somewhere that they were Barcelona fans who have a habit of doing this for publicity. Think it was the same dudes that did it in Euro 2004. Apparently this time it was as a demonstration against mourinho, who they've taken a dislike to since getting knocked out by Chelsea.

It would have been a bit daft for a Liverpool fan to delay the final whistle.

Well, I'm in no position to confirm that. I'm just saying what I saw and that was someone running onto the pitch from the Liverpool end clutching a Liverpool scarf. Barcelona fans had no business been there unless they have paid over the odds from the touts.

It would be stupid to delay the whistle but some people just can't contain their excitement and may not realise that is what they were actually doing.

I believe the pitch invaders were from Barcelona - they have a history of appearing at high-profile events. People may remember somebody chucking a Barcelona flag or shirt or something at Luis Figo during Euro 2004 - apparently it was the same group.
