Suppose to be going on holiday in september for 4 days, Wondering how much it would cost for 2 dogs? And what jabs would they have to have done other than kennel cough? Thinking about cancelling holiday :?

All kennels insist that all their vaccinations are up to date and need to have there certificate.
As for price this varies from place to place, the 1st time i had to kennel mine i looked at in excess of 50 kennels all around the local area and all the prices varied.
I know some places give a discount if they are sharing a kennel.
Its going to be more a case of going to view some and getting the prices it should not be more than £10 per dog per night i would have thought though.

I am sure you would have to show up to date vacination records any decent kennels would ask for them.

you would have to have up to date vacs and kennel cough , no kennel will allow un vacinated dogs there. There are some cheaper kennels , we have never used them but my ex boss has until recently used them , he has no recomendations to speak of but has been concerned by how the dogs came back with , Ticks, fleas and kennel cough! He tells me he wouldn't be happy as some of the time out of their kennels is 10 minutes for a walk, he usually walks his 2 for at least 3 hours a aday , for that reason he chooses a pet minder.

No chance of them taking my 2 then :( I don't want them getting fleas again cost me loads getting rid of them and defleaing the house aswell, plus i don't think my rottweiler would handle kennels very well cos shes the shy nervy type and i don't think she'd ever forgive me!

My GSD goes to a farm. They charge 11 quid a day. They need their jabs but kennel cough vaccine is not necessary. The vaccine only protects against 1 (i think) strain of KC but there are many many strains which can't be protected against.

How does a pet minder work?

Personally I think the kc jab is crazy too - most of the time, it ends up giving the poor things it if they haven't the immunity to the strain they are given.

I can vouch for Jaycliffe Kennels - they also have family kennel size too and all the dogs get walked twice a day and you leave your own bedding.

The pet sitters are also excellent - but i would only do that where my dogs went to someones home that was insured and totally safe - without many other dogs there, and that they were used to dogs of their size.
