Had loads of pains, uncomfort and braxton hicks since friday but nothing is happening! tried all the obvious things to naturally help things along but he's refusing to budge! My SPD is really playing up and my 2 year old is so bored bless her cos I can barely walk so we have been housebound for the last few weeks

I have the midwife coming to see me this afternoon to do a sweep and book induction, has anyone had any success after having a sweep done?

Everyone keeps saying, ooohh it wont be much longer, I wanna bite off their heads lol

awww bless , my daughter had a sweep when she was having her daughter in january 07 ,she was due on boxing day 2006 and had the sweep about a week later her baby arrived 2 days after the sweep was done,so good luck and i hope all goes well for you :-)

I had a sweep with my first and lost my plug a few hours after and he was here 2 days later.

Our lass had the sweep couiple of years ago at 3pm at 3am she was born.

I thought you were supposed to have sweep after 7 days or am i wrong lol

I think its because its my second there happy to do a sweep after after your due date. Well nothing so far but been told to give it 48 hours! Midwife called the hospital to book induction and they have me booked in this saturday at 9am so at least there is now an end in sight :D

Hang on in there bexstars, I know that the last few weeks are terrible enough and then you go and go bloomin overdue! Hopefully things will get going before saturday but if not at least you have a kind of d-day, good luck hun :)

thanks guys! still no signs so he has 24 hours before being evicted :hihi: gonna try and make today as much fun as I can for my 2 year old, I dont know why but I suddenly feel really guilty that it wont just be me and her anymore, although I know she will make a fab big sister and will be more like a second mum trying to take over and do everything lol but I guess its a normal feeling

I can't believe it's so close. Don't worry, I'm still stomping around, hoovering, rocking, harumphing up and down the stairs and molesting my husband...before Tuesday is still the target.
But for now I am harumphing up to bed - whose idea was it to have a room in the loft? Perhaps I'll go into labour in the night...

Shes in obvious pain and shes gone in the bath before we go to the hospital. Im not sure weather to laugh or have her sectioned!

See,, if it was blokes having babys, wed go into the labour room, cough and the baby would be there, no fuss, no bother, no yelling.

Then we`d go to the pub for a pint and thatd be it. There wouldnt be any of this fuss and bother that women make.

anymore babies arrived yet???

sorry its took so long to get back on, me and the little man had a bit of a rough time! I went into labour after a second lot of the hormone tablets and i managed to get to 6cm but then things went really wrong, i was bleeding loads and baby's heart had dropped too low and as there was no time to give me an epidural i was put to sleep and rushed off for an emergancy section, I found out afterwards that my placenta had abrupted and we both could have died! But were both still here and he's beautiful, Henry Oliver born 31st August and he weighed 8lbs 12oz

Congratulations. He's lovely. He looks older than a couple of weeks. Think it's all the hair as my little one was the same. All these babies are making me seriously consider having another!
