Good for you Tina, was it up at smeltings? I always laugh at rachel's class when they are doing jump lessons, quite amusing to watch them all!!

Helen, you'll be able to saddle up your new doggie friend and ride him soon :hihi:
It might be safer than me riding the horse again,! i had a private lesson from a friend who has her horse at Stubly Hollow !!!! I am sore and I probably have bruises :)

ask if she'll put some poles in front of the jump next time, so you get a feel for the stride going into the fence. Once you have that, and can start to "see" a stride you should find it a bit easier to stay in balance.
I do like jumping but prefer Cross Country rather than Show Jumping. But then that's probably because I had the best horse in the world when I was 16 and although we went everywhere at a flat out gallop, she was an ex race horse and really looked after me. That was some time ago and years since I last did it! ;)
I'd probably fall off XC these days.

Hi ive tried horse jumping but found anything over 10 hands in size is to high for me lol....... no seriously to want to sit and control these wonderful animals takes a lot of courage, something that would scare the living daylights out of me. Hope you all manage to fulfil your goals in attempting this increadabley dangerous and rewarding pastime
I rode when i was younger, but have only just gone back to riding after a few years out of the saddle. When i was young we had horse share with my cousin, who always seeme to be riding< i make the joke that I had the back end lol.
I think as I am older now, i am aware of breaking bones especially as i broke my had doing a handstand for the children.
