Im about 7wk pregnant now and my face is a disgusting explosion of spots! :gag::gag::gag: Has anybody any advice on what I can do? I've stopped wearing make up, am eating healthily and washing my face with product for sensetive and spot prone skin! I've tried the witch range and clearasil range and have now moved on to the neutrogena range, all to which are not working!!!!

Please help! :help:

Hiya, I am 11 weeks pregnant and have had the most enormous volcano spots on my face for the last few weeks!:( I asked the dr for something and they did give me some topical antibiotics to use, but I decided not to as I'm not a big fan of antibiotics. Anyway, what I have been doing, and it does work although is not particularly pleasant... is crushing a clove of garlic and rubbing a little of this onto the spots. It does sting, but as garlic has natural antibiotic properties it seems to get them sorted pretty quickly!

You tried toothpaste? That's supposed to work i think. I haven't tried it though.

I tried that when I was a teenager and it didn't do a great deal! I've been putting sudocrem on the big ones at night but it's getting to the stage where all my face is just a greasy bumpy mess!

Sudocrem is good. Its a natural hormonal change that causes the spots though. Lots of women get them, most will see a remarkable improvement towards the end of the first trimester and remain pretty much clear skinned until a day or two after birth.

Evening primrose oil is supposed to be really good for your skin, check with the pharmacist first though.

I don't think you can take evening primrose when your pregnant - I am sure I read it somewhere once.

In the US, primrose oil is used the same way as raspberry leaf tea, so is best avoided until latter stages of pregnancy

I had spots all the way through my pregnancy and now hes 16 weeks I still have them, although not on my face just my neck, but they are real bad. Dr said at 6 week check they would clear up once hormones settled, im still waiting.

I suffered horrendous spots on my back when I was pregnant. Not much consolation right now, probably, but they do go eventually!
