Hi Im just after some general building advice. My husband is just in the prosess of getting some quotes for a brick 'attached to the house' garage, we're just wanting to know a few things as we'v been ripped of in the pass. 1. How deep do the footings have to be? 2. How much should we be charged for labour per day and how many days roughly are we looking at to get it finished. The size is roughly 6x3 metres Thanks

hi shell. reading your post made me register. generally speaking foundations should be as deep as exsisting house foundation. or minimum of 900mm. but basically you have to have reached 'good ground'. this basically means virgin load bearing ground. as for the labour per day. do not go down that road. price and price only. this means tell the builder what you want and he can give you a complete price. then get quotes, don't go for the cheapest, like wise the most expensive. if it seems to good to be true it is. good luck. g.
