Thinking about putting a small conservatory onto the back of our new house as a dining space - looking at the JTF Wholesale website I could buy the conservatory (3m x 2.5 m approx) for £1,400 plus VAT - anyone idea how much it would cost to get someone to fit it?

We had a conservatory put on our old house about 5 yrs about which was 4m x 3.5 m and cost us about £10,000 with global windows - they did an excellent job and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again - just wondered though if it would be cheaper to buy it and pay someone to fit it?

hi i do think a company would be alot better but rememmber its a buyers market so barter!!! Had Global fit mine 4 years ago and they fitted my parents about 3 months ago, my advice ,look elsewhere there aftersales service for my parents has been abismil and we are to in a battle with them as our roof as suddenly moved after all this time and they are wiping there hands of the situation. It took 3 months and a very nasty letter from the Global manager until we recieved our £250 loyalty gift for recommending them to my mum and dad, sadly i now regret it 100%. Wadworth Designs in intake are excellent, there number is in the book, hope this helps Good Luck!!!

We got ours from Roundbrand they are based in Rotherham and Barnsley, and we put it up our selfs, If you can buy one at a good price then i would ring round for quotes to let them errect it for you.

don't forget you may need planning permission if it's going to be within a specified distance of next door - even if you're not exceeding your 25% volume on the 'extension'

and if you're leasehold you'll need permission from your landlord - or a hefty uncapped fine could ensue
