Does anyone else reckon that the machines to keep the self-service popcorn warm at Cineworld are a bit dangerous?

Burned my hand on one of them last Thursday, now I've got a nice red burn mark on the back of my hand which I'm going to have to try and cover up for my wedding photos on Saturday

There's nobody around to warn you about it, and don't remember seeing any signs either.

Not really, although I had a bottle of water and small popcorn there last night and the prices are more dangerous than the self-service.

Only £6.20 so a bargain!

Yeah the price just added insult to injury, quite literally in my case! The markup on that must be huge, sure it's only about £1 per kilo for popping corn at wholesale prices.

Have you thought about suing them ?

My brother suggested that too but don't know if it'd be worth it - the burn mark is only about the size and shape of a strawberry, didn't require a hospital or doctor to see to it, and I imagine it'll be completely gone in a few months.

Just surprised me that they left the machines unattended where accidents like that could happen, the next person might sustain a more serious injury.

Maybe the next person will be more careful around equipment that clearly will be hot! More ridiculous health and safety, so nobody has to take responsibility for their own mistakes.

Fair point, I agree, I'm not about to become part of the "ambulance chaser" culture.

Good Grief - You're serious aren't you ? Get a life !
