Yeah, making it a forum meet would be good although I'm not sure many straight people will want to attend, which is a shame really as loads of straight singles and straight couples go, inlcuding me (and hopefully my boyfriend) :)

Well, personally I think it's because generally gay venues or gay events tend to have a much more relaxed atmosphere.

You can be who you want to be (come as your are) and you don't get any where near the amount of trouble you get in a straight club but that's just my opinion. :)

It's the lack of straight people that makes them so relaxed though. Once you get too many straight people you can't "be yourself" anymore, you have to start worrying if some bloke is going to puch you because you looked at his arse (happened to a mate of mine once at Climax) and you get all the straight women cooing "you're not realy gay are you, what a waste", which is about the most insulting thing they could say, or my favourite, overheard in gents toilet, "I've nothing against poofs as long as they stay away from me", why was he at a gay night then ?

I can see where you're coming from and I'm sorry that you've experienced such bad behaviour from these people but not all of us "straight" people are bad!

The fact that a straight person is at a gay venue will always out weigh any rude comment they might say anyway because after all... why are they at a gay venue if they don't like it? :)

I'm having a belt made for me especially for climax so hope it's ready in time!

To be honest I found Climax one of the least relaxed atmospheres I've ever been out in. maybe the nights I go to are unusually friendly but I hated the way people acted towards me at Climax.

Normally drum and bass or techno or somesuch noise. Been down canal street and some of the leeds LGB places and had a great time but just find climax a bit of a cliquey place.

I'll be there. my best mates away so i am introducing my best mate from work, she can't wait to go!!:)

Wow, I've never found that at Climax. I've been going fairly regularly since '98, and have always found it really welcomming! There's a few of us going from here, give one of us a nudge if you fancy coming with us! :thumbsup:

I also found it very "clickey" and if they see a new face they give the "evil eye look" as to say "wot u doing ere", sorry to say I wont be going again.

I ended up on my own too....:mad:

But I found a new friend very quickly and enjoyed the rest of the night...in fact I was not even ready to come when the party ended and the lights came up and everyone had to leave...:P

I really enjoyed myself...:hihi:

I enjoyed it too and haven't been up long :o

Had a really good time and just felt a bit overdressed so will go more casual next time.

Got split up more than once form the main party but did enjoy just wandering round watching the general party going. It's a fun atmosphgere and I would recommmend anyone to go along.

PS - BG - wish I'd known you were going for pizza - I was starving as not eaten all day and had to be satisfied with two plates of Indian nibbles!!!

I had three plates of food there last night. Yes, three! :blush: Apparrently I had some more food when I got in too, but that part of the night is a little hazy....

I didn't have anything to eat at all...not even a tongue sarnie!!

Just a quickie to say thanks to you all for a great night, really enjoyed myself.

My feet were killin though so had to call it a night by midnight and of course I turn back into rags at the strike of 12.

Gosh I thought Climax would be cheep for drinks though and it really wasnt..... not that Iam a cheap skate.

Lookin forward to the next meet but will definately be wearing flats!!!
